Cal Tech / MIT Enterprise Forum is a joint venture which is formed by an association between the MIT Alumni Association, Alumni Associations of Caltech and Caltech Industrial Relations Center. Pasadena Entretec administers the forum. The aim of Cal Tech / MIT Enterprise Forum is to encourage and help in the development and success of Southern California region technology-based entrepreneurial ventures.
In 1971 MIT Alumni Association organized a number of workshops in New York and Cambridge which led to the growth of the Forum. In 1984 a joint venture between Alumni Associations of Caltech, Caltech Industrial Relations Center and MIT led to the formal formation of Cal Tech / MIT Enterprise Forum.
The Cal Tech / MIT Enterprise Forum organizes monthly programs that gives support, advice, networking opportunities and education to the companies based on technology and are situated in Southern California. In these programs the ventures get lot of information relating to many important entrepreneurial issues such as business planning, financing, executive leadership, marketing and staffing. There is a panel of venture capital experts who review the business plans of companies in emerging technology areas. While new entrepreneurial opportunities are studied in special sessions in various fields like medical technologies, life sciences, communications, software, energy, and entertainment technologies.
