Orange County’s Wealthiest People Estimated at $34.5 Billion
According to the Orange County Business Journal’s annual list of the wealthiest people, thirty-two people in Orange County account an estimated worth of $34.5 billion. Last year, the list comprised of twenty-eight people.
In 2007, the twenty-eight listed people accounted for an estimated worth of $33.5 billion. However, the addition of four wealthiest people increased the estimated worth to $34.5 billion.
Donald Bren holds nearly a third of the total wealth with about $10.5 billion. Bren is the owner of The Irvine Company. The Irvine Company is a privately held real estate investment company in Orange County. Don Bren is the son of producer Milt Bren and he grew up on Lido Isle. He has given away thousands of acres in Orange County to be used as parks and natural areas. He now lives on Harbor Island in Newport Beach, Orange County California.
Lynsi Martinez, 26, is the youngest of all the billionaire in the list. She is the heiress of the In-N-Out Burgers Inc. In-N-Out Burgers is a privately owned fast-food chain restaurant. The company owns and operates more than 210 popular burger joints.
The Orange County billionaire group this year didn’t gain much as the real estate downturn lowered.
